IDAHOBiT Means We Work As A Team And Not As Adversaries

The theme of this year's International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Bi-phobia is:

 "Together: Resisting, Supporting, Healing!"

It reflects the struggles against abuse, against self hate as well as a desire to lead a productive life.

COVID-19 is ravaging communities, loved ones are passing, hospitals have filled up to overcapacity, but within the communities lies hope too.

Recall that this initiative came about in 2004. The aim was to bring attention to the violence the LGBTIQQ Community faces.

The 17th of May was chosen to also commemorate another important milestone. That is the day in 1990 that the World Health Organization (WHO) declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder.

It is about hope, it is about reflecting on practices that may cause hurtful events, it is about the desire to lead productive lives, it is about a realization that humans can achieve their full potential when provided opportunities to thrive and survive.

Join us as we bring about the realization of a more peaceful world.
